Marvel Mania

On October 28, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige excited fans across the globe by revealing so-called Phase 3 of the Marvel cinematic plan.  Phase 3 is going to be made up of nine movies including Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Avengers: Civil War.  The release dates have Marvel fans marking their calendars all the way up to 2019.

In addition to the announcement of the films’ titles, Marvel also announced the casting of Benedict Cumberbatch to play the eponymous Dr. Strange in a film to be released in November 2016.  Dr. Strange will join other comic book greats, including Captain Marvel and Black Panther, who will also make their screen debuts during Phase 3.

Following the plethora of announcements, fans settled in to watch Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC where they were also given previews of both Agent Carter, a new Marvel TV show premiering in January 2015, and The Avengers: Age of Ultron, a movie which hits theaters on May 1, 2015.

Far from satiating avid fans, this new information has sparked great excitement, as the Marvel fan community eagerly awaits casting updates, trailers, and eventually the films themselves.
