Email Intended to Clarify DHC Prices Reveals Discrepancies: Cost of Three Popular ‘Transit Items’ In Question

Following an email sent to faculty and staff by Business and Operations Manager Lisa Carbone Warren clarifying SAGE Dining prices Tuesday morning, WordsWorth discovered discrepancies for three different items in SAGE’s Transit Fare category.

The three items, Pita and Hummus, Vegetable and Ranch Dressing, and Grapes and Cheese Cups, are extremely popular among students and faculty.

SAGE Dining has two different prices listed on their menu for Carrots & Celery with House-Made Buttermilk Ranch, $3.00 and $3.50. When WordsWorth went to the register to ring up the item, which has a sticker price of $3.50, the cashier said the computer system charges $3.00. SAGE Food Service Director and Head Chef Stacy Mishkin said the computer system was mistaken and the item actually costs $3.50, one dollar more than the amount Carbone Warren wrote in the email.

WordsWorth interviewed Carbone Warren on her way to lunch.  She said the prices in her email were the ones agreed upon by the school and SAGE at the beginning of the school year and is what the cost of the items should be in the Dining Hall. She said she would inquire about the price discrepancies shortly.

WordsWorth emailed Carbone Warren to follow up on the conversation, but did not immediately hear back.

This is a developing story.
