Clarkson Says Goodbye to MFS By Lauren Edelstein and Morgan Stepanski

Clarkson poses with middle school students outside the Meeting House before Meeting for Worship.

After five years, Middle School Director Kimberly Clarkson is departing from the MFS community. Although she only works in the Middle School, she impacted people from every division of the school.

During her time at MFS, she has made many changes to the Middle School, including Genius Hour for the Fifth Grade and the QUEST program for the Seventh Grade. “Some of the things I’m really proud of that have happened in the time that I’ve been here are that we now have Middle School Diversity Club, Middle School Pride Club, and the QUEST program took a lot of time and energy on the Seventh Grade teachers, so I was honored to be here at the time,” stated Clarkson.

The MFS community’s tight-knit environment affected her in many ways. When asked how MFS impacted her life she said that “It has been really special for me to work in a community that feels a lot like a family, and that has really changed the way that I have approached my job.”

Clarkson hopes to leave a positive legacy in the MFS community. She supported and aided the Middle School in many different ways which she hopes will be remembered. “My legacy will hopefully be that I supported the faculty and students in what they needed and wanted from the Middle School,” said Clarkson.

After five years at MFS, she has formed many strong connections to different parts of the MFS community. She will miss many things about the MFS community: “The people…it is going to be really hard for my family and I to leave.”

Clarkson is uncertain about what lies ahead in the future. She is sad to leave the MFS community, but is looking forward to what comes next. Clarkson is excited for “whatever the universe holds in store for me.”
