Squid Games: Squid Games, based in South Korea, is a survival drama in which people who are significantly in debt are kidnapped and tricked into playing in a deadly tournament. This tournament is filled with challenges based on kids’ games. Participants are forced to fight for their lives in hopes of winning 38.5 million dollars and paying off their debt.

Money Heist, Season 5: The Spanish series Money Heist follows the heists of a group of criminal misfits, led by the genius mastermind “The Professor.” During the first half of season five, he leads the group through their newest heist — robbing the bank of Spain. They have previously been successful in robbing the Royal Mint in Spain, despite a few losses in the midst of the action. The first half of the season is currently out on Netflix, with the second part set to release on Dec 3, 2021

All American: High school football star Spencer James lives in Crenshaw, Los Angeles. However, his life took an unexpected turn when he was offered a transfer to Beverly Hills High to play football. The show takes a look into Spencer’s life as a young teenager living his football dream. New episodes of season four are currently every Monday at 8 pm on the CW. The third season was released on Netflix during the summer of 2021. 

Clickbait: Clickbait seeks to reveal the truth of the dangers of online social media. The show differentiates between virtual and real-life experiences. A benevolent family man, Nick Brewer, is abducted and blamed for online crime. When reported missing, a video shows him holding a sign stating he will die at five million views. His family and friends try to stop whoever is behind this before Nick is murdered. 

Manifest:  A group of passengers and crew board a seemingly normal flight from Montego Bay, Jamaica, to the John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, on April 7, 2013. However, this is not a normal flight, and they end up  disappearing for almost five years, until they suddenly reappear on land after being presumed dead. So many questions with much-needed answers arise. Manifest is set to return for its fourth and final season on Netflix in the spring of 2022.

Outer Banks, Seasons 1 & 2: The first season begins with four tenacious teenagers on a treasure hunt trying to figure out what happened to their leader’s father, Big John Rutledge. His whole life Big John has been in search of the Royal Merchant and its treasure. Through his journey, Big John meets new people with the same interest. An unexpected turn occurred, resulting in Big John passing. After hearing this news, his son John B continues the treasure hunt hoping to find the gold. Season two is full of excitement as the four teenagers try to escape danger and capture the treasure. 

Lucifer: Lucifer Morningstar gets bored of his life as the devil in hell and decides to give Los Angeles a try. Lucifer runs his own nightclub and becomes a consultant to the LAPD. Lucifer then begins to wonder if there is hope for his soul and a change in attitude when a murder occurs outside of his nightclub. Lucifer season six was released on September 10, 2021.

On My Block: A group of four friends attempts to survive and navigate their way through high school in southern Los Angeles. The friendships are tested throughout the different modern issues they encounter such as immigration, PTSD, homelesness, toxic masculinity, and gang violence. On My Block season four dropped on October 4, 2021.
