The annual Senior Project culminates the academic and personal development of the Class of 2023. The Senior Project allows students to experience new perspectives of potential careers, as well as get networking experience.

Shelby Noel ’23 defines the Senior Project as “a time to gain work experience in a formal setting rather than working in retail or at a restaurant. [She thinks] it’s just a time to break into the workforce, getting to know what to expect when you do internships or formal jobs in the future.”
Wordsworth interviewed three seniors to see what they are doing for their projects.
Ava Savino ’23 is shadowing a judge in the Philadelphia court system because she is interested in law, but she’s not exactly sure what kind of law so she thinks that this experience would help her decide on what to do exactly: “I hope to have a comprehensive understanding of the court system, and what I’m gonna be doing. And then also I really hope to see if there’s something like a route or an avenue that speaks to me … . And then also just meeting new people and experiencing the court system through a different perspective.”
Noel is also doing a project similar to Savino’s, but instead is working as an assistant in a law firm. She hopes to pursue medical law or something related to economics and finance: “I just want an understanding of what I do and don’t like. I know that I really am passionate about law and public policy, so having the ability to do something related to those two and sort of having that federal aspect of my project, I think that’s gonna be really cool. Hopefully I like it, but if I don’t, it won’t be the worst thing in the world. I’m just trying to gain some experience.”
Finally, Alissa Fox ’23 will be volunteering at an animal shelter, mainly watching and assisting with dog surgeries, and just in general, helping with the dogs. She wants to be able to get hands-on experience from this, because she will be studying animal science in college. Fox wants to be able to “become more comfortable with different areas of animals. Not just automatically friendly dogs or automatically friendly animals, but all types of animals.”
